About Nonja

A quiet inbox for macOS notifications. Reads Notification Center in the background, groups by app, and jumps to the source.

How to install Nonja on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for Nonja and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 0.2.6 from piro0919's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to Nonja show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's file is on GitHub: Nonja-0.2.6.dmg (3.3 MB).

What is new in Nonja 0.2.6

### Changed

- The update window now follows the Mac's language, so it appears in Japanese on a Japanese
Mac. It was always in English before.
- Nonja is now shown in English unless the system language is Japanese.

### Fixed

- Clicking a notification now jumps to it on macOS in any language, not only Japanese. Mark All
as Read also clears the app in Notification Center on English macOS; in other languages it
still marks it as read in Nonja only.
- The permission prompt for controlling System Events is now in English.
- Clicking a notification or clearing an app no longer freezes Nonja while Notification Center
 opens.
- When the notification database is missing, Nonja now names the path it checked, the verified
macOS version, and where to report it.

### Internal

- The build verifies the SHA-256 of the Sparkle archive it downloads.
- The release script runs the self test, and refuses a dirty working tree, a commit that is not
on origin/main, an existing tag, a version the built app does not carry, or a missing
 changelog section.
- Releases stop instead of falling back to an ad-hoc signature when the signing certificate is
 missing.
