How to install Thaw on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for Thaw and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 3.0.0-beta.2 from thaw-app's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to Thaw show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

### New

- **Triggers can show items while an app runs**, even in the background. When it quits, they go back to your saved layout. Added by @diazdesandi in [#1223](https://github.com/thaw-app/Thaw/pull/1223).
- **Launchers can open menu bar items and apply profiles** through `thaw://` URLs. Floe works without setup. Added by @diazdesandi in [#1223](https://github.com/thaw-app/Thaw/pull/1223).
- **Restore missing menu bar items**, in Troubleshooting, brings back stuck items and keeps your saved layout. Added by @diazdesandi in [#1223](https://github.com/thaw-app/Thaw/pull/1223).
- **Gradients can run at any angle.** A new slider in Appearance sets it. Gradients you already use look the same. Suggested by Danilo Carvalho (danmnesiac) on Discord. Added by @diazdesandi.
- **Layout shows when macOS won't let an icon follow its section.** A badge on the item explains why. Added by @camguillory in [#1254](https://github.com/thaw-app/Thaw/pull/1254).
