How to install DeciBar on a Mac
- Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
- Search for DeciBar and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version from gostonx's own GitHub release.
- Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.
Updates to DeciBar show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

What is new in DeciBar
DeciBar is a lightweight native macOS menu bar utility that estimates ambient noise levels in real time, logs history, and shows weekly exposure insights. ## Install Download DeciBar.dmg, open it, then drag DeciBar into the Applications folder. On first launch the app requests microphone access so it can estimate ambient sound levels. All processing happens locally on your Mac. Audio is never recorded or transmitted.
