How to install Belay on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for Belay and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 2.1.1 from PerfectoWeb's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to Belay show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

What is new in Belay 2.1.1

- **Lid Hold works again after an update.** The system kept a stale record of Belay's lid helper after the 2.1.0 update, reported it enabled and refused every request to it, so holding through a closed lid silently did nothing. Belay now refreshes the registration at every launch and again if the helper stops answering. Direct build only.

- **Nudge no longer reports a finished session as gone quiet.** Four causes found live and fixed: a `/compact` or another local command after a Stop read as a new prompt; a parked session brought back by the transcript's own heartbeats; a session that stopped and expired in the same moment; and a Stop with background tasks still reading as working after its thirty-minute budget.
