How to install Voicely on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for Voicely and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 1.4.4 from StulkovLD's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to Voicely show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's file is on GitHub: Voicely-1.4.4-76daae3718df-4bc1c044508b99deecef0942f8b1dc181fdae5bf146a6eb140cc20c6fabcca86.dmg (22 MB).

What is new in Voicely 1.4.4

## Voicely 1.4.4

```bash
curl -fsSL https://voicely.art/install.sh | sh
```

This GitHub release mirrors the build that voicely.art/install.sh ships (same DMG, same SHA-256 `4bc1c044…fabcca86`).

### What changed

- **Dictation lands at the caret in Chrome, VS Code, Claude, Codex and every other Chromium or Electron app.** Voicely no longer writes into them through Accessibility, which accepted the text and dropped it. The transcript goes through the clipboard and `⌘V`, and your own clipboard, every item and type of it, is put back right after the app has read the text. If you copy something in between, your copy stays.
- **Native Mac fields** (Notes, TextEdit, Mail, Messages, Telegram) still take the text directly, and Voicely reads the caret back to confirm it landed. **Terminals** get typed text. Line breaks become spaces there, so nothing runs by itself.
- **A text never goes in twice and never vanishes silently.** Voicely tries the next way only when the previous one certainly failed. If nothing takes the text, it waits on the clipboard and the pill says "Press ⌘V".
- **Clipboard managers don't keep your dictation.** The transcript carries the standard transient/concealed markers.
- **Every dictation leaves one line without its words** in `~/Library/Logs/Voicely/insertion.jsonl`: the app, the channel, the outcome and whether the app confirmed it read the text.
