About WindowHop

Switch between windows, not just apps. Fast, native macOS window switcher with large app icons or live previews — free, GPL, no telemetry.

How to install WindowHop on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for WindowHop and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 2.4.0 from martonpaulo's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to WindowHop show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

What is new in WindowHop 2.4.0

### Added

- **`` ` `` moves back in the switcher**: while the switcher is open, `` ` `` selects the previous
 window, as in the macOS app switcher.

### Changed

- **Simpler About header**: Settings › About no longer shows a separate "Made by Marton Paulo"
 line. The copyright line at the bottom of the pane still names the developer.

### Fixed

- **Shortcut recorder prompt fits**: while you record the Open WindowHop shortcut, the whole
 prompt (⎋ cancels, ⌫ clears) is visible. Before, it was cut off.
- **Quit apps leave the switcher**: the windows of an app you quit no longer stay in the
 switcher as blank tiles until WindowHop restarts.
