How to install QuotaBar on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for QuotaBar and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 0.5.29 from QuotaBar's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to QuotaBar show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's files are on GitHub: QuotaBar-0.5.29-apple-silicon.dmg (7.1 MB), QuotaBar-0.5.29-intel.dmg (7.5 MB), QuotaBar-0.5.29.dmg (13 MB).

#### Added

- Codex card: with two or more kept accounts, the address gets the same arrow after it to pick the account; with one, the "Accounts" list under the card no longer repeats the address already shown above it. The Claude card's arrow lists the email alone.
- Claude works without Claude Code: with no Claude Code sign-in on this Mac (or a signed-out one), the card reads a claude.ai web sign-in instead — the Claude desktop app's, then Chrome's, Edge's, Brave's, Arc's, Vivaldi's, Chromium's, Firefox's or Safari's — so switching account in the app or the browser switches the card. Settings → Providers → Claude has a Source choice: Automatic (Claude Code first, then the web), Claude Code only, or Web sign-in only, and says which web sign-ins it found. macOS asks once to let QuotaBar read a sealed cookie key (Always Allow); Safari's file needs Full Disk Access. Sessions are used in memory only.
- With two or more Claude sign-ins on this Mac, the account line on the Claude card gets a small arrow: pick which sign-in the card, menu bar, island and dock show. A sign-in with no profile yet gets one made for it. With a single sign-in there is no arrow. Claude's desktop app keeps its own sign-in, which QuotaBar cannot read; a second sign-in for QuotaBar comes from `CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR`.
