How to install Mudroom on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for Mudroom and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 0.1.1 from Kernel-Hunter's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to Mudroom show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's file is on GitHub: Mudroom-0.1.1.zip (3.1 MB).

What is new in Mudroom 0.1.1

- Applying a big change is faster. On 44,801 new files (about what an agent's `npm install` leaves behind), apply went from 28.5 s to 11.6 s and undo from 6.8 s to 3.8 s. Files are now staged in parallel before the project is touched. The project itself is still changed one path at a time, with the same rollback journal.
- The network log shows IPv6 hosts as `[::1]:443` instead of `::1:443`, and a request that never named a host as "(no host)" instead of `/:0`. Those rows no longer offer an Allow button that couldn't do anything.

Install or update with `brew install --cask kernel-hunter/tap/mudroom` (or `brew upgrade --cask mudroom`), or download the zip below.
