How to install MacMTP on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for MacMTP and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 1.7.5 from kalabhaftu's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to MacMTP show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

### MTP Listing Reliability and Responsiveness
- Track progress during native directory walks so slow scans that continue returning entries do not hit a fixed wall-clock timeout; retain a bounded timeout for stalled operations.
- Skip stale queued directory operations after timeout and arbitrate timeout/completion safely for each native operation.
- Cache file-list status summaries and use content revisions to avoid rescanning large file arrays on unrelated SwiftUI updates.
- Add path-free source-scan breadcrumbs and regression coverage for timeout races, large lists, revision invalidation, and telemetry privacy.
