How to install Ironsmith on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for Ironsmith and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 0.5.2 from Jeidoban's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to Ironsmith show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's files are on GitHub: Ironsmith.dmg (111 MB), Ironsmith_x86.dmg (122 MB).

What is new in Ironsmith 0.5.2

## What's Changed

This adds support for macOS 27 and making apps with the Swift 6.4 toolchain as well as some other tweaks to prompts and startup checks.

It's worth noting there's currently a bug in the standalone Xcode command line tools for macOS 27 that prevents apps from compiling using `@State` (which is most SwiftUI apps). My hope is this is fixed in the final release of macOS 27, but in the meantime you can get around this by downloading the beta version of Xcode, which doesn't have this bug.
