How to install Fuwa on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for Fuwa and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 1.2.0 from yuxino's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to Fuwa show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's file is on GitHub: Fuwa-1.2.0.zip (3.8 MB).

What is new in Fuwa 1.2.0

## English

- Move and resize an independent reference window, or select just the part of a picture you need.
- Temporarily hide and restore all pinned pictures with a separate, customizable shortcut. Playback choices and settings are preserved.
- Show references across all Spaces, in the current Space, or only while a selected app is active. Remember frame rates by source app and save resources when the picture is still.
- Group Settings more clearly and make window options and help popovers narrower. The optional “Picture unchanged” setting now explains what appears and where.
- Requires macOS 14 or later. Update through Settings, or quit Fuwa and replace the app in Applications. The Apple Silicon/Intel universal package retains the existing local signature and signed updater; it is not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized.
- Automated checks and generated-window capture checks passed on Apple Silicon. Intel hardware, physical external displays and a complete updater installation were not revalidated.
