How to install DayDream on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for DayDream and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 0.1.7 from getnorthlight's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to DayDream show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's file is on GitHub: DayDream.dmg (67 MB).

What is new in DayDream 0.1.7

DayDream is in beta. Expect bugs, and please report them on GitHub.

## What's new

- Moment cards now say what you asked ChatGPT or Claude, and who you texted, instead of “Used the send key” or “Wrote a text”.
- Connecting ChatGPT now also gives it DayDream's guide to when to use DayDream. In our tests on made-up work weeks, ChatGPT checked DayDream for all 22 questions about the status of your own work, up from 13 without the guide, and still left unrelated questions alone. If ChatGPT was already connected, DayDream adds the guide the next time DayDream opens.
- Fixed: an AI app kept open through many DayDream updates could stop getting answers from DayDream until you restarted it.
