What is new in amtrino 0.3.1
## The idle CPU fix amtrino 0.3.0 could hold a full CPU core indefinitely, animating or not. Each time the menu bar icon image was set, AppKit re-captured the status item; that capture re-resolved the button's appearance, which fired amtrino's appearance observer, which redrew the icon, which set the image again. A closed loop with no timer in it. - **Redraws are now keyed.** A redraw that would change no pixel leaves the button alone, which breaks the loop and also stops fleet ticks from re-capturing an unchanged icon. - **The appearance observer only repaints on a real light/dark flip.** - **The busy pulse runs at 4 frames per second** instead of 10, sampled on a fixed clock so identical frames dedupe. Measured on an M2 Max: idle 92% → 0%; one dot pulsing 92% → 7%. Notarized and stapled. Install or upgrade: ``` brew install --cask arian-shamaei/anthropometer/amtrino ``` or grab `amtrino-0.3.1.zip` below.
