How to install AccountyCat on a Mac

  1. Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
  2. Search for AccountyCat and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 1.0.5 from strjonas's own GitHub release.
  3. Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.

Updates to AccountyCat show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.

Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's file is on GitHub: AccountyCat-v1.0.5-apple-silicon.dmg (8.0 MB).

## Install

1. Download `AccountyCat-v1.0.5-apple-silicon.dmg`.
2. Open the DMG and drag **AccountyCat.app** into your **Applications** folder.
3. Launch AccountyCat from Applications.

The app and the DMG are both **signed and notarized** by Apple, so Gatekeeper opens them without warnings.

## What's new since 1.0.4

- **Custom models in online mode too** — the online add-model flow is unified with the local add-model UI. Fixed a local token-budget bug that was truncating prompts unnecessarily.
- **Local runtime** — gemma-4 support, safe runtime/app updates, an incompatible-model guardrail, hardened first-chat startup, and faster warmup/first-load with a clear "not ready yet" indicator.
- **Cleaner add-custom-model state/UI** and assorted UI fixes.
- **Chat profile actions** — AC now trusts its own chat judgment instead of a deterministic keyword gate, so the reply and the action it takes always agree (e.g. a bare "great, do it" confirmation no longer gets silently dropped). The profile-name parser is hardened against filler-only references.
