About Perch
A free, open-source drag-and-drop shelf for macOS
How to install Perch on a Mac
- Get OpenDMG. It is a free app store for open source Mac apps. Download OpenDMG.
- Search for Perch and press Get. OpenDMG downloads version 1.6.1 from maxthegray's own GitHub release.
- Open it. The download is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint and its signature is checked on your Mac before it lands in Applications.
Updates to Perch show up in OpenDMG and install with one button. No account is needed.
Prefer to do it by hand? The developer's file is on GitHub: Perch.zip (4.0 MB).
What is new in Perch 1.6.1
Tuck Perch away. Touch Perch’s edge to tuck it away; touch again to bring it back. A tiny mound marks its spot. Download Perch.zip, unzip it, and move Perch into the Applications folder. Perch is signed and notarized by Apple, and requires macOS 14 or later. Smart Perch is included as an optional, entirely local feature.
